PhD apologetics and apprentice of Journalism
As someone with more than a passing interest in apologetics, I read the list of books that were used by Trinity Theological College and thought they were all above average. in order to let as many people know about them I reviewed them.
The first book was the very foundation of becoming an apologetics, It had the list of tools that would be needed for our foundation to grow. From there it was taught that if you did not have a good and solid foundation your apologetic foundation would not work. Then the book gave a dissertation about the bible that it made foundations grow. The book made it very clear that no matter the foundation without God you have nothing.
Book two we learned more about what we needed to make our foundation strong. This book taught us that we must have the right attitude about using apologetics correctly. being a apologetics is not be in constant competition with everyone. It means we do our job in the name of God. Apologetics is not a field ministry but it is a spiritual ministry and we must always remember that. A spiritual ministry involves God.
Book three the final foundation book. There was a review of what was supposed to be learned and how to use it.It taught us to look for; debating techniques, mind manipulation, questions particularly the stupid ones. These were important because they are used to throw an apologetics off his game and to look silly doing it.
Book four dealt with hundreds of questions that had been asked over the years to Pastor Harris. These questions will more than likely be seen again when we start working. One good thing they were all answered with references by Pastor Harris. So we will know where to go when we are ask about the same thing.
Book five dealt with people accepting Jesus and keeping them wanting to help for the rest of their lives. I am going to use my own analogies based on what the book taught. This plan if used right can bring a regular Jew to Jesus. First you must teach him that my going to heaven is a given. His going to heaven is based on luck and hopefully some good things he has done. Once he has decided to accept Jesus, then he has to understand being baptised is very much like taking a mikva. Finally you must convene him that only Christians and Messianic Jews are going to heaven and no one else.
